Union Square | Stunt Doubles: Bourgogne Rouge
February 8 2025 | 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM13 E. 13th Street, New York, NY 10003
Burgundy is one of the most revered wine regions in the world. The ability for its cherished grapes, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and even Gamay to translate the nuance of terroir from one vineyard to the next is unparalleled. But years of collectors hoarding the wines, overall minuscule production, and increasing popularity have priced most Burgundy out of range of many wine enthusiasts. In this class, we'll discuss what makes Burgundy such an iconic region, focusing on tasting wines that drink similar to Burgundy, in terms of grape variety, climate, complexity, and quality, but at a price that will keep your wallet happy. In this class, we'll focus on Pinot Noir, tasting 6 examples of Bourgogne Rouge "stunt doubles" that will compete with the best of the Côte d'Or.
