Union Square | California North to South
February 15 2025 | 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM13 E. 13th Street, New York, NY 10003
In mid-February in NYC, we're in need of some sunshine! Join us as we celebrate the bounty of California wine.
In this class, we’ll focus on exciting grape varieties that the state can offer, at every palate and price point. We’ll discuss the history of wine in California, the rise and fall of interest in particular grape varieties (Merlot! Zinfandel!), and how serious winemakers are seeking out sites planted pre-phylloxera and prohibition to craft elegant, thoughtful wines with intention. It's almost hard to find a grape or area California winemakers haven't explored. We'll cover California wines, from ultra-natural/non-interventionist wine making to off-the-wall grape varieties, off-the-beaten-path vineyards, and some of our esoteric favorites. Join us as we explore the emerging stars and regions that are revolutionizing the California wine scene, and the historical figures who made it great.
Join us for a glass of wine and dinner the day of class and receive 10% off your check.
Live wine classes are led by Corkbuzz Sommeliers and last 90 minutes. Class includes 6 (2 ounce) pours of wine, printed materials, and complimentary cheese. Guests will be seated at communal tables. Please refrain from wearing heavy fragrances to class.
